Affirmative action discriminates against many students when regarding college admissions by requiring universities to place quotas on certain races and ethnicities. This results in many under qualified students to be favored over higher qualified ones based on the students' ethnicity or race. College admissions should be based off a student's merits and not their race or ethnicy in order to keep discrimination at a minimum.
