discontinue all pay, allowances, or benefits to the executive & legislative branches until the budget is balanced.

Created by B.R. on July 23, 2013

This country has fallen on hard times of our own making. We are currently under a sequestration that is impacting our country at every level except for one. The military has seen dangerous cuts to manpower and federal civil servants have been forced to take a 20% pay cut. All of this amounts to a 2%ish cut to our national budget of 3.8B to offset a 16.8 trillion dollar debt. The absurdity of this solution to our problems is laughable. Those that put us into this situation have not seen a single reduction in pay or benefits. I propose that until we have a balanced budget, a law requiring that the budget may never exceed income, and a path to reducing our debt; the executive and legislative branches may not draw a paycheck or collect on any benefits from their public servant positions.
