The death penalty is a constant problem with many sides through the U.S. America is one of a few countries that still allow the death penalty. The process costs 2-5 times more than keeping a criminal in jail for a life sentence. It is also considered "cruel and unusual punishment" (8th Amendment from the Bill of Rights) to many through electric chairs, lethal injection, gas chambers, and even a firing squad. Think of all the phases that the court is kept busy with and all the complaints and appeals from different families (ex: Stanley "Tookie" Williams case). Is it right to kill someone to show that killing people is wrong ("an eye for an eye")?
Together we can end this if the people of America actually care enough to sign this petition.
