Discontinue government salaries of all elected officials immediately following removal from elected office.

Created by T.D. on January 22, 2013

Elected Government Officials continue to receive full pay and allowances for the rest of their lives, even after serving as little as a single two-year term. Given the current state of the economy, it is imperative that We The People speak out in order to abolish this practice in an effort to conserve millions of dollars per year at the cost of the taxpayer. Serving in the House and/or Senate as an elected official was deemed to be an honor by the Founding Fathers; it was not designed to be a career option.
