The Penny now costs 2.4 cents to produce which is costing the US an additional 70 million dollars a year. It has lost any reasonable usability in everyday transactions and, even if used, takes an unreasonable amount of time to count out. Research has also shown that prices with a 5 cent rounding system will not raise prices. Please sign this petition to stop production of the economic hindrance that is the Penny
