If congress cannot come to an agreement on a budget in time to prevent a government shutdown, then members of congress should not get paid until a budget is passed.
During a government shutdown thousands of federal employees are placed on furlough without pay. Our troops also stop getting paid. It doesn't make sense for these federal employees and our armed forces to go without pay while members of congress continue to receive paychecks.
It's time for members of congress to reap what they sow.
