Discontinue Using the Gregorian Calendar.

Created by D.W. on August 25, 2013

Whereas the Gregorian Calendar is not the legal (de jure) calendar of the USA; and
Whereas the Gregorian Calendar came into existence via a papal bull by Pope Gregory XIII in 1582 (issued to all those subject to papal authority and jurisdiction); and
Whereas the Gregorian Calendar cannot be the calendar de jure, due to the Establishment Clause in the First Amendment of the Bill of Rights (which prohibits Congress from making a law respecting a papal-decreed instrument);
It is hereby petitioned that:
1) the administration propose discontinuing the use of the Gregorian Calendar by Dec 31, 2016;
2) the administration propose adopting (along with universal adoption at the UN) the Hanke-Henry Permanent Calendar for implementation on Jan 1, 2017.
