Discourage the Cherokee Nation Councilors and Chief Baker from altering the Freedom of Information Act! Urgent-3 Weeks!!

Created by T.A. on April 29, 2014

Petition to leave the Cherokee Nation Government Records Act as written.
The Cherokee Nation Government Records Act and Freedom of Information Act is legislation that provides oversight of the CN government, CN boards, committees and contractors. It has been in place for many years. Proposed amendments by the majority of the Council would remove oversight from the Executive Branch, Legislative Branch, CN business entities and contractors. It would block the availability of CN records to citizens and Council Members eliminating our ability to hold accountable those that would harm our nation.
Cherokee At Large Leadership Network maintains that transparency in government is imperative, and CN Citizen's right to information should be protected.
