We need an explanation for why DME ( Durable Medical Equipment ) such as a nebulizer ( RETAIL purchase price between $60 to $80 ) can't be purchased directly by Medicare for it's patients. Instead, there are 13 monthly lease payments of $50 per month, totaling $650 ( around 10 times MORE than if it was purchased outright ). Yet, things like doctor visits are limited to ridiculously small payments and Physical Therapy is limited to $1900 when there is much more involved. I want to know who was responsible for this and how much money was donated to this person or persons. Our politicians are crying that Medicare is going to be broke and yet there are rules and regulations in place that cost the taxpayers untold amounts of dollars. Medicare could be solvent if it wasn't for things like this.
