Congressional Reps & Senators are too isolated from common problems to be serious about governing for the public good. Their salaries & benefits give them an opulent lifestyle & safety nets financed by public dollars they haven't really earned. Until commonsense solutions to public problems are instituted, they should earn only Minimum Wage with NO Benefits, and NO Security Protection that shields them from the effects of the problems created by defense industries (ie. too many guns available for safety.)
