One trillion dollars to upgrade and maintain our nuclear arsenal over the next 30 years is wasteful. We do not need such a stockpile of cold war weaponry. Dismantling 50% of our current inventory would save hundreds of billions of dollars and set an example for the other world nuclear powers.
