The Defense Nuclear Facilities Safety Board (DNFSB) has interfered with DOE defense related projects, latched on to innocuous issues that do not have any safety significance, and caused taxpayer money to be wasted for no other reason than to sour the public on commercial nuclear power. One has just to look in depth at DOE defense related projects since the creation of the DNFSB. They have proved themselves to be an ideologically driven organization devoted to the suppression of commercial nuclear power. They have succeeded admirably in that goal because they have excellent support by similar minded career DOE personnel who keep their jobs even though administrations may change every four or eight years.
