The right established by the Second Amendment has been gutted by a lack of participation in a militia created under Article I, Section 8, Clause 16. Also, that the oversized militarist armed forces have gone well beyond the limits of civilian control and the original intent of the founding fathers for their existence.
This petition seeks to abolish or reduce the US Military in accordance with the founders' beliefs that " standing armies in the time of peace are dangerous to liberty" and reinstate and modernise the Militia Act of 1794.
This would place the military more in line with the original intent of national defence, and universal participation; instead of international aggression.
