The Commandant of the Marine Corps, General James F. Amos has lost the confidence of the American people to lead the Marine Corps. He has attempted to pervert justice by ordering subordinate officers to find Marine defendants guilty without a fair trial, and he has illegally used his classification authority to conceal evidence. The Marine Corps Times now reports that Gen. Amos has ordered its publication removed from display in base exchanges after it published articles critical of the General’s behavior. Gen. Amos’ actions are unacceptable. His hubris in believing he can dictate justice outside the established legal system, lie to investigators, and deliberately conceal evidence is astounding. He has lost his moral authority to lead the finest fighting organization in the world.
