Dear President Obama,
Please dismiss with prejudice the pending charges, illegally discharging a firearm on federal property, as well as any other related charges against Lt. Cmdr. Timothy White.
Lt. Cmdr. White bravely discharged his firearm in self-defense and defense of others when he and his fellow armed service members came under gunfire in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Not only did 5 brave members of our armed services die at the hands of a domestic terrorist in an easily preventable and tragic loss of American life; but now Lt. Cmdr. White is facing charges stemming from defending his fellow soldiers, in a circumstance where any self-respecting human being would have returned fire.
Prosecutorial discretion matters, this alleged violation of a gun-free zone deserves pardon. Thank you.
