The leaked conversation between Ms. Nuland and the US Ambassador to Ukraine reveal that the methods and language used by Ms. Nuland are unprofessional. These methods are not acceptable for an official in the top tier of US foreign policy.
Dismissing Ms. Nuland would be the best apology to our European allies, to Ukraine, and to all people who have been offended by her undiplomatic, tasteless, and offensive language.
We expect our Government to support democratic opposition to tyrannical governments and believe that this support should be carried out gracefully, diplomatically, and with maximum tact. The style of the discussion revealed in the leaked conversation not only is cause for embarrassment; the exposed attitude is ultimately harmful to American interests in Eurasia.
