Hydraulic fracking is the process that aids in the production of oil and natural gas throughout the U.S. The EPA is wrapping up a study that could potentially regulate, and/or ban this technique. Fracking has been utilized as early as 1947. If the government interferes with the process, then it will be costly to not only the oil and gas industry, but also the nation's economy. The amount of oil and gas produced in the U.S. will decline. As a result, the supply will decrease, therefore, the demand will increase, driving the costs up. An administration aiming to promote the use of America's natural resources, should not be willing to jeopardize the entire industry by adding useless regulations. This could prove to be very costly to the U.S. economy.
