The petition, "Peacefully grant the State of Texas to withdraw from the United States of America ...." is without merit and has not been voted/ratified by the citizens of the State of Texas. The petition is not focused solely on the people of Texas but the United States as a whole in which the people of Texas have played an equal part in the current situation in the United States. Depriving the US of the piece of the whole that is the State of Texas would perpetuated such sufferings as described in the afore mentioned petition. The author of the petition reflects upon the spirit of the beliefs of the Founding Fathers that august body of citizens that came to be long before Texas itself became a member of the union. Such reflection is ill-informed and without proof, fact or precedence.
