There have been an increasing number of "White House Petitions" created by, and supported by, independent citizens claiming to act on behalf of sovereign States.
(refer to petitions advocating withdrawal from the United States)
These petitions made by distraught citizens mock the Constitution. More American lives were lost in the Civil War, defending the Constitution of the UNITED States, than any other war in our history.
These individuals do not speak with the imprimatur of State government. Perhaps from a position of authority, State leaders may advance secession. A political process already exists as a remedy for these petitions, and therefore, these petitions should be dismissed as improper and without authority.
Petitions are not a farce. They should not be treated as such.
