Disregard petitions to outlaw insulting prophets of major religions.

Created by J.S. on November 13, 2012

There is a petition here that calls for this. Such a law would be unconstitutional and violate the inalienable rights that are Creator-given that each person has, even the right to say stupid or offensive things.

Not only is making it illegal to offend someone or a religion or a prophet unconstitutional, but the proposed petition itself is unfair because it only protects major religions and not minor religions, thereby respecting the establishment of some religions over others.

The comparison was made in the petition that saying it is freedom of speech is the same as murder being freedom of expression. That's obviously an incorrect comparison because murder deprives people of life, which is an inalienable right, talking about prophets doesn't deprive people of any inalienable right.
