There have been multiple petitions regarding the ban of civilian firearms, such as the AR-15. These have been proposed because people who support it believe this will stop mass shootings. It would, except for one thing: Criminals don't follow gun laws. Terrorists or criminals in general can easily purchase these weapons, potentially even worse ones, through the black market and importation. They would still be able to commit these shooting because of this. Concealed carriers can stop shootings. There would be no one to stop these shooting before the damage has been done if we were disarmed. Disarming ourselves would put us in danger.
