The citizens of Texas, a member of the United States of America, wish to continue to be a component of the union. We greatly fear potential deprivations of economic, civil, religious, and political freedoms that may be imposed following secession. We ask that the United States government not allow the secession of our state.
Let it be known, we have absolutely no desire to be associated with any defector. We fully pledge our allegiance to the United States Government. We love our country. We are dedicated to it. And we are committed to preserving its rights and liberties in accordance with the original ideals and beliefs of our founding fathers.
