Dissallowed Credits for the Married Filing Separately should be Removed

Created by D.B. on April 22, 2014

Now let's take a few minutes to discuss something that is absolutely needing our government's attention. Married Filing Separately is a filing status chosen by couples who are legally 6 months or more, or just doesn't want to be responsible for their spouse's huffy tax liability or they just would like to be responsible for their own taxes and deductions. The sad thing if they chose this filing status, they can not take the Education Credits, Student Loan Tax Credits, or Child Care Expenses and a few other tax credits. We are told if one itemizes the other one must itemize, yep that's right, We would like to ask our elected pals to please work with us aby changing these laws so that couples using this MFS filing status can take the same deduction if they filed jointly. Thank You.
