Dissolve the Electoral College, and allow future Presidents of the United States to be decided by popular vote alone.

The Electoral College was created and enabled at the beginning of our government, at a time when it was absolutely necessary because the people of the newly created country could not be trusted to elect the president. Things have vastly changed. The United States people are now educated, intelligent, and literate. When Al Gore won the popular vote in 2000 and Mitt Romney did the same in 2012, many were disappointed to find the people's choice would not be elected. This essentially tells us that our vote does not count. I propose this changes, and we dissolve the Electoral College OR a fairer, more mathematically correct compromise is reached; such as if you win 60% of a state you are granted that percentage of the electoral votes.
