District Derived Assesment Testing for Public Schools

This petition would address the need to have our public schools end of year assessment tests created by each individual school district instead of having a state wide test that may or may not correlate with all the districts curriculum.
As the system stands now our teachers are having to spend time not only teaching their districts required material but they also have to spend way too much class time teaching these children HOW to take a test that doesn't prove anything because it is not over the material they been learning from throughout the school year. Each school district across this nation has different needs, strengths and goals; therefore all districts have different curriculum. So why are we giving them all the same assessment test in the same format?
