Having been made clear that, in general, counties in the western region of California vote with an eye towards social issues while disregarding the fiscal, agricultural, and employment impacts suffered by the rest of California and the nation as a whole, we request that California be split into two states; namely, East California and West California. State lines will be determined by current county lines at the time of the creation of this petition.
West California shall consist of the following counties:
Humboldt; Mendocino; Lake; Sonoma; Napa; Solano; Sacramento; Contra Costa; Marin; San Francisco; San Mateo; Alameda; Santa Clara; Santa Cruz; Monterey; San Benito; Santa Barbara; Los Angeles
East California shall consist of all counties not listed above, which are too numerous to list.
