The Electoral College is outdated. Gone are the days of Hamiltonian and Madisonian elitists who created a government rife with distrust of the common people. The popular vote should determine the winner of the election.
This would require passage of the 28th Amendment, thereby eliminating the Electoral College and repealing most of the 12th Amendment. All it takes is someone to introduce this in the House of Representatives and the Senate. If a popular vote is good enough to elect them, they should have no problem getting the 2/3 necessary to send it to the states.
