Do away with the electoral college and operate presidential races under popular vote.

Created by W.H. on December 10, 2012

Instead of giving each state it's "worth" or "weight" in regards to population, let the popular vote do the speaking. As it stands, the electoral college doesn't necessarily represent the popular vote. If the electoral college was done away with, true democracy would result. Currently, each state is only worth so much in a presidential race, which is a reflection of population. Rural areas, having less say that urban. Are urbanites more important that agricultural families? Shouldn't each state be worth the same as the next? The "majority rules" is a principle this country was founded on. Popular vote reinforces that and ensures that we the people, have the final say in who leads this country.
