I'd like to see the practice of tipping done away with, especially in instances where it allows service workers to have a base pay of less than minimum wage. Forcing people to depend on the kindness and whims (such as leaving religious leaflets instead of money) is unkind at best. There's no reason that the cost of servers reasonable wages can't be built into the price of the meal. If you have a problem with service, take it up with the management rather than taking money away from the worker (if I don't like the way you do your job, can I just take a chunk of your paycheck? No, of course not).
