do background checks on gun purchases online and at gun shows, and create safe storage and childproofing gun laws.

Created by C.R. on May 09, 2014

I believe it is vital for the safety of children in the United Stated that background checks on firearm purchases be enforced not only in stores but also online and at gun shows. Without enforcing it everywhere, the Brady Law loses it's entire purpose: keeping felons and mentally disabled people from obtaining guns. An event like the one at Sandy Hook Elementary could easily happen again if gun control isn't made stricter. We also need to protect our children from our own guns and prevent accidental shootings by requiring guns be childproofed with loading indicators, child-safety locks, and "Smart Gun" technology. Although the 2nd Amendment is important, children's safety should come first in, and by restricting certain things we can respect the 2nd amendment while keeping children safe.
