Do extensive psychological exams and regulate who may become Foster Parents.

Created by T.H. on November 10, 2011

Children who enter the foster care system are in desperate need of empathetic and loving caregivers who can give them a sense of stability. Child protective Services can not do lengthy investigations because of funding and staffing issues, and often a child of maltreatment goes unheard. When they are taken from all that they know and placed into foster care, it can be devastating. If the foster parents are not stable, the child loses a sense of stability and has a failure to thrive. This is disgraceful, foster parents should be screened and be required to attend classes and regular counseling. Children should be assigned an advocate with a counseling degree that works with them to make sure adjustments are going well and their little voices are heard.
