There has been much discussion of what should be done to stem the tide of gun violence. While the debate continues with a focus on our nations gun laws, it is time to look in a new direction. Lets utilize every tool at our disposal, including innovative ones, such as the application of ballistic barriers to protect the public, in the public space.
While this is a very novel approach, so was the use of fire alarms in public buildings in the 1800’s. Today, fire detection systems are required in every building, by code, to help protect people in the event of fire.
Our nations talent pool is deep. Lets expand this code and task our vast architectural, interior design, construction and manufacturing communities with implementing a new tool that can help protect us all from gun violence.
