We, the petitioners, ask that more be done to help the homeless. Being homeless myself, I have learned that those who have a small income, get little to no help.
Currently, my mother and I are homeless. We were given many hotlines and places to go, saying they would help. There was no help. Mother makes a gross of $1700, only $1100 makes it into our pockets. When homeless, the money goes real quick.
That doesn't matter though. Its the fact that she has this small income, that we have been repeatedly told we can afford housing/bills/etc. Which we cannot.
In the end, we can get no help because of this small income. Shelters won't allow me in, due to mental health problems. No one should have to go through this. There needs to be more help for EVERYONE.
