Troops who make it home from intense combat without physical scars are still never the same. Moral, stable individuals come home psychologically shattered. DUIs, divorce, extreme domestic violence, drug abuse, and suicidal behavior are appallingly common. Much of what goes on is never reported because soldiers fear punishment or damage to their career, and when it is they are ridiculed for missing training to seek help. Some are advised to simply abandon spouses and children, because it's easier than recovery! PTSD is at its worst 3-4 months after returning home, yet for some training for the next deployment already begun. War is tearing families apart and leaving our own people as victims with nowhere to turn for help in a corrupt system.
PLEASE see that more is done to work against PTSD.
