This petition is important because if we continue in our ways of fishing, by the year 2050, we could lose all fish species; sharks, who have survived most of the mass extinctions, will die off soon with the demand for shark meat; manta rays will die off if the demand for manta gills continues; and many more species would die off. A solution that this petition is presenting is this: turn shark, ray, and other non-fish marine products into tourist destinations, and have protected areas - no-fishing zones - for fish in order to not collapse the economy while still protecting the amazing marine animals. This will also protect the ecosystem of the surrounding area and the economy based off of marine fishing.
