We ask the President to intervene on behalf of the wild horse and burro population of the United States of America; to protect these animals under the The Wild Horse and Burro Act. PUBLIC LAW 92-195, indicates the Federal Govt. is to protect this population from "fast disappearing" off the public lands. The BLM advisory board's recommendation is out of bounds with the intent of the Act to protect these creatures as "an integral part of the natural system of the public lands."
We also ask for a more progressive sterilization/population management program that safely protects these animals, via PZP and re-settling, and to enforce that these animals needs on national lands are a priority over the original cause of the "fast disappearance": commercial ranch expansions.
