I propose that we nullify corporate subsidies of those making obscene profits until there are no "entitlement" shortfalls. Rather than "reform" (dismantle into block grants, and "privatize") Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, etc., which no elderly person can afford with the price of everything skyrocketing, I propose that we raise taxes on the rich, and the elderly will never starve again.
No one should have to choose between eating or taking their medication. No one should have to hear the government say, "Sorry, but your "entitlements" have to be cut so we can quadruple the defense budget, and give ever more tax cuts to the rich bellying up to the government cash trough for a piece of their quid pro quo.
Ronald Reagan raised taxes and the debt ceiling and we thrived, that's a fact.
