Providing arms for this loosely organized faction will only further exacerbate violence in the country and the Middle East region. While the atrocities taking place are heartbreaking, funneling weapons to an organization comprised of Al Qaeda aligned extremist will not lead to a desirable outcome.
By arming the rebels you will put our nation at odds with Russia, you will be providing military support to the same terrorists our troops have fought in Iraq, and you will endanger our ally Israel by empowering Islamists.
America has destabilized the region by invading Iraq. "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it." The citizens of this country do not want more war.
