Congressman Howard Berman -- one of the lead supporters of SOPA -- lost his re-election last week. The Los Angeles Times is reporting that Berman is being considered as the replacement for Hillary Clinton when she steps down as Secretary of State in coming weeks.
Berman was a lead backer and architect of SOPA: If America is serious about promoting global Internet freedom, it's hard to imagine a worse pick for Secretary of State.
We implore the Obama Administration to please take a strong stand for Internet freedom and against censorship by not nominating Former Representative Berman for Secretary of State.
