Telemarketers continue to call even if you are on the registry. They hide behind vague descriptions like "Visa and Mastercard" insinuating their right to call.
To Circumvent "Do Not Call Lists" they call from various different phone numbers, always with the same message, forcing the consumer to request to be taken off their list from each new phone number. If you do actually get a person, they hang up, forcing you to call the number back, at your expense, to get them to stop calling.
These practices need to be stopped, and consumers must be given the opportunity to stop all future calls within the initial call.
Also tougher enforcement and fines for violaters must take place.
