We the undersigned do not want any cuts to Social Security, including cuts that might be inflicted using Chained CPI. American seniors and others dependent on Social Security should not have to pay the price for Republican tax cuts, wars, and government mismanagement in the past. Social Security does not affect the deficit or the national debt and should not be included in any discussions about the sequester or deficit reduction. Including Social Security in those discussions is misleading and will do serious harm to Americans in the long run. We urge the President to take a public stand to protect Social Security at all costs.
