If gun control is enforced, people will rebel against the government and those trying to take their guns away.
Plus, the people that actually abide by the laws aren't the problem, the problem is the criminals that have the guns. The criminals would find a way to get guns illegally. If gun control was enforced, the people that no longer had weapons wouldn't be able to protect themselves or anyone against the criminals that do.
