Goverment should stay completely out of marriage. However, on a state and local level the people have a right to choose how to govern themselves on marriage based on religious point of veiws instead of political point of veiws. Marriage does not belong in politics. Just like the bible quotes, "Marriage should be the union of one man and one women only." On a state and local level not a federal level state and local governments should play a role in protecting religious liberty by allowing churches to discrimate against homosexual marriage by keeping civil unions, gay right activists, and government out of church. Right wing tea party Christain's do not hate gay people they just want the individual freedom based on religious veiws to raise a family traditional!
