Do not let child custody be taken away from a parent completely without consulting the kid(s) affected.

Created by A.K. on March 18, 2014

As a child I went through a lot of hardships, including loosing my mother. She lost legal and physical custody and on that day my life is starting to fall apart. I felt withdrawn, depressed, and not eager to do any activities. I believe this is not healthy for the child because their grades start to slip, and their mental & physical health start to deteriorate overtime. It is true that when the child is 18 they are able to make their own decision, however a lot of children may have a long way to got to reach that age. I feel that the court may be based on evidence however they may not realize the danger that occur at home because they are not with the children then. I ask that the family court system let kids from the ages 8-13 testify in court to give the judge an insight to what happens.
