Please join me in asking that the thousands of National Guard Members who got Re-Enlistment bonuses not be punished by making them pay the bonuses back, plus the charge of interest after all of these years! Many of them, if not most went to war and a decade later are being asked to pay those bonuses back after an audit revealed over payment. They are being charged interest as well, and some are having their paychecks garnished, liens put on property, etc. This is just not right. We waste so much money on unnecessary things and our heroes are never "overpaid." This is causing severe hardship for many of our Veterans.
