DO NOT MOVE HALLOWEEN FROM OCTOBER 31ST

THE TRADITIONAL DATE AND OBSERVANCE OF HALLOWEEN SHOULD REMAIN ON OCTOBER 31st. This is our tradition, and it flows naturally into All Saints Day followed by All Souls Day. To move All Hallow's Eve to the last Saturday of October is crazy talk! What we now commonly referre to as Halloween, if moved to a fixed day, would break tradition and the succession of these dates. The idea is as ridiculous as moving Christmas Eve to the last Saturday of December for reasons such as stated in moving HALLOWEEN. The children would be off of school on the last Saturday of December, so to calm their excitement over a holiday and accommodate parents work schedules, if we can justify moving Halloween to a fixed Saturday, then we can justify moving Christmas eve to a fixed Saturday followed by Christmas day
