Do NOT pass a tax on non-profit credit unions!

Created by J.B. on June 06, 2013

Big banks and politicians are trying to tax credit unions, who are currently have tax-exempt status. Credit unions have long been a viable alternative to banks, and are extremely useful for average citizens and small businesses alike. Unlike banks, credit unions are non-profit, member-owned, and volunteer-directed. They do not answer to stockholders, instead, they answer to people. And also unlike big banks, credit unions are not at all responsible for the financial crisis. So why is the government trying to punish credit unions? Taxing them could jeopardize the credit union movement, and this is clearly an attempt by big banks to weaken their competition. Please do the right thing and do NOT tax credit unions!
