DO NOT RECOGNIZE THE ILLEGITIMATE GOVERNMENT OF VENEZUELA'S NICOLAS MADURO.

Created by E.F. on April 15, 2013

On April 14, interim president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, was elected by a thin margin. Maduro usurped power after Hugo Chávez's death, violating the Constitution of Venezuela. According to it, the interim president should have been Diosdado Cabello, head of the National Assembly.
Maduro, self-appointed with the support of the army and backed by interventionist elements from Cuban military, led a fraudulent campaign based on intimidations. On election day, thousands of irregularities were reported and hundreds of thousands of votes lost. A pro-Maduro entity in charge of elections declared him victor, but challenger Henrique Capriles rejected the results.
The White House has supported a total recount, but it should go further. Do not recognize government until new elections are held.
