The Second Amendment clearly states: "the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." This is a basic human right, as stated in OUR Constitution, and cannot be intentionally misinterpreted by any elected official.
Disarming law abiding American citizens will not reduce crime or gun violence as intended. It will only render the innocent helpless against criminals and acts of violence. Statistics speak for themselves regarding crime rates in gun restrictive jurisdictions. There will always be unfortunate events involving gun violence, however, this does not give the government the right to contravene our freedoms. It is a sacrifice that must be made in order to preserve our TIMELESS Constitution. The dissolution of one Amendment is "open season" on the rest.
