Law enforcement needs the 1033 program to combat terrorism, crime, and to protect the officers themselves from any possible hazards they may encounter. We the people of United States must understand that only a fraction of a percent of police violate the law. With this said we must take into account their safety as well as ours. Law enforcement must have this equipment in case of riots, terrorist attacks, mass shootings, school shootings, etc. We need to think about our national security and safety; it does not matter if it makes us uncomfortable because it is necessary. Terrorism and crime also makes us feel uncomfortable, so why make it harder for a local law enforcement to combat crime and terrorism. Keep everyone safe and do not reform the powers of police or remove the 1033 program.
